Mermaid... Finished

This was a cross stitch kit I purchased off of eBay. I ditched everything in the kit and kept the pattern. A good friend of mine helped me redo the colors and this is the finished product. The only identification for this pattern in Qiaoshou Cross-Stitch - QS-3382.

Yeah...yeah... I know..

OK. So I really haven't done much cross stitching lately. We got a couple of new Wii games. I have been playing with the kids. I also have been working more on scrapbooks. I am so behind and my kids are growing so fast. Anywho, I have decided to post my scrapbooks to show that I have been crafty, just not cross stitch crafty.

I will have to scan in Blake's 3rd Birthday Scrapbook - so that will come later.

Cross Stitch...no, Scrapbook...Yes

Well, my cross stitching has not been happening this year. With a toddler running around, it is kind of hard to stitch. He wants to play with the light. He keeps trying to see what he can take from me that looks interesting. So, what have I been doing? Catching up on my scrapbooking.

I am still so far behind. I have started digital scrapbooking which I have found a new love for. It is so fun and easy, and actually, I feel, is a little cheaper than traditional when all is said and done. However, I have a ton of papers and embellishments to use... and a whole lot of old photos that are printed, so thus, can't go all the way digital just yet.

I am not creative like some people. I have seen some of the most amazing pages. Some that are simple and elegant; others that are collagey and fun. I am lucky to put mats under my pics and some embellishments. When it comes to journaling, well, the computer better be around. I have the worst handwriting ever. Thank God for free fonts!

I love Adobe Photoshop. I am using it to make some cool collages. I am using Creative Memories Storybook Creator for my digital scrapbooking. I highly recommend it. It is so easy to use. You can buy their kits or use whatever you import in. I have scanned some of my own papers to use.

I hope I can scan some of my pages and put them in the 2010 folders. I finished a high school yearbook. I also updated my oldest sons book. I think I could scrapbook everyday and never get caught up...(I love taking pictures... and I have a niece who is a photography major. She takes great pics.).

Well, sorry no pics yet, but I hope to post some soon.

Maybe I could find a small cross stitch to do so that I feel like I accomplished something...:D.

Later.

2010 and stitching wishes

Well, I have made it to another year. I must say that I am jealous of all of you who get so many projects done in a year. I just can't stitch the way I used to with the little ones. Full time job, full time mommy. Sigh...

I do have some projects I want to stitch this year. There are 2 big ones and one WIP. The WIP is Mirabilia "Mermaids of the Deep Blue". I would love to get another Mira mermaid done. Don't know if I will ever catch up. I would also love to stitch "Motherhood" by Heaven and Earth Designs. I absolutely love this design. I would be willing to stitch the very tiny stitches of the HAED for this one. It is so pretty. My last big project would be Mirabilia's Mediterranean Mermaid. There are some smaller ones as well, but I will probably decide on those when I get tired of stitching the big ones. I have one small one that I am trying to finish. It is called "Fun in the Sun". I can't remember who it is by. When I am done, I will post the information with the finished piece.

Good luck everyone.
